Teacher faces trial on sexual violation charges

A former Dargaville teacher is to stand trial on charges of sexually violating a young person.

It follows a depositions hearing today in the Dargaville District Court.

Richard Calder faces four charges of sexual violation, two of supplying liquor to a minor and one of indecent assault on a child under 16.

The charges all relate to incidents on January 24 this year.

The 35-year-old was remanded on bail and will reappear in the High Court in Whangarei in July.

the first comment from anonymous is bull! Girls under 16 in dargaville are manipulative little tarts. at the time this supposedly happened i was at a party held by R & he went to bed early by himself. It was his flatmate (also a teacher at the time) id be more worried about! I do not believe for an instant R did anything wrong to the little tart.

So sad that girls can get away with distroying someones life just because they crave attention. If you need attention that much look to the ones in life that should give it to you (parents) and leave the poor people who don't need this shit alone
